The love of God

‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beleiveth in him should not perish but inherit eternal life.’ (John 3 v 16)

In the Bible there are many verses that contain hidden messages and this is why I really like this verse.  There are certain words in this verse that, if we take the first letter and put them together it spells out the word ‘gospel’.  The word ‘gospel’ means Good News.

This is an important verse to me and is the basis of my beliefs.  The verse talks about God sending his son Jesus into the world to preach God’s plan and purpose.  It also tells us about the love that God has for us.  Love so strong that he was willing to sacrifice his only begotten son, Jesus, who never even sinned.
If we believe God’s teachings found in the Bible and try to follow the perfect example of Jesus, Christadelphian’s believe that we will be given the gift of eternal life in God’s kingdom.  This will only happen when Jesus returns to this world, when our faith will be judged.  We need to look forward to this moment even though we don’t know exactly when it will be.
There are many prophesies in the Bible that tell us about events that will take place shortly before the return of Jesus.  Some of these prophecies have already happened!  This strengthens my faith because I know that what I believe is true.
I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and it is true.  This is why this verse, along with the whole Bible, is important to me.
